Sally Jane Norman

Norman_Sally_Jane_nbSally Jane Norman is a cultural theorist and practitioner whose transdisciplinary work addresses art and technology, theatre and performance. Professor of Performance Technologies at the University of Sussex since 2010, she was previously founding director of Culture Lab, an interdisciplinary research lab at Newcastle University. Holder of a doctorat d’État (Paris 3, Institut d’Études Théâtrales), former artistic Co-Director of the Studio for Electro-Instrumental Music (1998-2000), and co-founding jury member of Telefonica’s VIDA Art & Artificial Life Competition, she publishes on live arts and regularly engages in lobbying and policy initiatives with diverse institutions and new media networks.
